Street Closure Map for 2021 Cambridge Carnival
Please be advised of traffic impacts from two events scheduled this weekend.

The 27th Cambridge Carnival International will take place on Sunday, September 12. Please note: the parade route will be shortened this year and the main stage will be located at University Park (not Kendall Square as in years past). The parade will start at Blackstone Street and proceed down River Street to Mass Ave, right on Mass Ave to Sidney Street, and right on Sidney Street, starting at 12:30 p.m. The festival will take place on Sidney Street between Mass Ave and Pacific Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Street closures along River Street and Mass Ave should be expected between noon and 3 p.m. Sidney Street will be closed from Mass Ave to Pacific Street from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The 96th Annual Feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian will take place on Saturday, September 11 from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, September 12 from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Feast will be held on Warren Street, Porter Street and Macarelli Way in East Cambridge. Residents and businesses should expect limited, intermittent traffic delays on Cambridge Street.

View Sunday’s parade route, which will lead to brief delays in the area.

Unvaccinated guests are asked to wear face coverings. In crowded areas, all guests are strongly recommended to wear a mask unless eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status. All vendors and volunteers will be masked for the duration of the event.

Any public drinking and/or smoking of marijuana will not be tolerated (unless permitted in designated areas) and will be strictly enforced.
