Cambridge police responded to the 2300 block of Mass. Ave. for a report of a stolen motor vehicle.

Jose Carabello, 61, 820 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, was arrested for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. At approximately 7:42 p.m., the Cambridge Police received a call for a stabbing in progress at 820 Mass Ave. Upon arrival, a suspect (later identified as Carabello) was seen in the hallway in the area where the attack had occurred. Carabello was detained, pending an investigation. A knife was located and recovered from his room shortly after. Staff were able to provide security footage which showed Carabello stab the victim in the lower left area of their torso. Carabello was then placed under arrest.

Cambridge Police responded to the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Sellers Street for a report of a mutual assault and battery. One male was transported to a local medical facility with minor lacerations.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police arrested Jessica Welch, 32, 21 Walden Square Road in Cambridge, and James Howard, 42, 21 Walden Square Road in Cambridge, on charges of Armed Robbery, Receiving Stolen Property +$1,200, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (knife). A victim approached a uniformed Cambridge Police Officer in Porter Square stating they had been physically assaulted and then robbed of several valuable items at knife point by two people. While giving a statement to the officer, the victim pointed to two nearby people, who were later identified as Welch and Howard, and stated they had been responsible. Officers stopped Welch and Howard and, during a subsequent investigation, discovered a knife similar to what the victim had described and property bearing the victim’s name in their possession.
