Cambridge Police responded to Mass Ave for a report of a shoplifting in progress. As officers approached the scene, a suspect matching the description, carrying a bag full of pans was observed walking in front of Mass Ave. As officers approached the suspect, he dropped the bag of items and began to flee from officers. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was detained and the property was recovered in front of 450 Mass Ave. The suspect was identified as Jeffrey Cordio, 57, 8 Elm Street in Leominster, was charged with Shoplifting by Asportation.
