Cambridge Police arrested Jarrod Plomaritis, 35, 3 Summit Avenue in Somerville, for a charge of receiving a stolen motor vehicle, a charge of failure to stop for police, a charge of improper operation of a motor vehicle, operating to endanger, and a charge of lights violation. Plomaritis was witnessed by officers driving his vehicle up the wrong way on Technology Square, a one-way road. When Plomaritis saw police, he turned his vehicle headlights and rear lights off, conducted a u-turn, and drove away. Officers followed the vehicle and later discovered the vehicle was reported stolen. Officers, while operating fully marked CPD police cruisers, utilized their blue lights and sirens to conduct a stop on the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Sidney Street and Massachusetts Avenue. Upon approaching the vehicle on foot, Plomaritis quickly accelerated the vehicle away, without providing his information to officers. Plomaritis crashed the vehicle a block away while attempting a turn. Plomaritis fled the vehicle's driver's seat on foot and was apprehended a short distance away by officers and placed under arrest. A search of Plomaritis returned a small baggy with a white powdery substance, a glass pipe, and a waxy substance. A search of the stolen vehicle returned multiple tools, Plomaritis’ cell phone, a scale with a white residue, and a bag of vials and needles.

The defendant will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court for Assault and Battery on a Person 60+.

It was determined that Lewis Hernandez, 46, 402 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston, had been the dominant aggressor damaging a motor vehicle and attacking another individual with closed fists and kicking him with boots. Hernandez was placed under arrest and charged with Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle.
