While the victim was leaning into the vehicle, looking at the gift in the back of Lento's motor vehicle, Lento reached past the victim, grabbed the door, and closed it. This caused the victim to be pushed into the car. The victim did not believe he was free to leave. Lento then explained that his credit cards had been overdrawn and asked the victim to go to their bank to withdraw $1,725. When the victim entered the bank, they informed an employee they believed they were being scammed at which point police were called. It was discovered that the alleged kidnapping had happened in the area of Vassar Street in Cambridge.
