COLUMBIA ST
Police Traffic Enforcement Officers were conducting directed patrols around Columbia Street and Cambridge Street. Officers observed a motor vehicle drive by them and take a left onto Columbia Street, while doing so the operator of the vehicle failed to yield to the pedestrians in the crosswalk, almost striking them. As a result of the infraction a motor vehicle stop was conducted. After a brief investigation it was concluded that the operator of the vehicle did not possess a valid driver's license. The driver, a resident of Waltham, was issued a criminal complaint for the following charges: one Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle, one count Crosswalk Violation.

Officers observed a motor vehicle traveling on Cambridge Street proceed through the intersection at Columbia Street, while the traffic control device was showing a steady red light. As a result, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop. After a brief investigation it was concluded that the operator of the vehicle did not possess a valid driver's license. The driver, a New York resident, was issued a criminal complaint for the following charges: one count of Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle, one count of Fail to Stop Red Light and one count of License Not in Possession.

Police responded to the 700 block of Massachusetts Avenue for a disturbance. Officers were flagged down by a Cambridge resident who stated an individual nearly bumped into them on the sidewalk and then brandished a folding knife towards. The victim retreated, called 911, and followed the suspect down Massachusetts Avenue, at which point the victim flagged down responding officers and pointed out the individual who was walking down the street. Officers stopped the individual in front of the 700 block of Massachusetts Avenue and located the folding knife in their pants pocket. Brayan Zapata Diaz, 31, of Cambridge was placed under arrest for a warrant issued out of Brockton District Court. Diaz is also charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon for brandishing a folding knife in a menacing manner towards the victim and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Francisco Mahon, 41, of Cambridge MA was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a class E drug. Mahon is also charged with resisting arrest because he tried to flee during the arrest. Mahon also had two warrants out of Boston District Court.
