The Records Unit is a controlled public service area which stores all police records and reports and provides other valuable services to the community.
Services offered by the Records Unit:
- Request for Police Reports
- License to Carry Firearms (LTC) and Firearms Identification Card (FID)*
- Letters of Good Conduct
- Sunday Work Permits
- Fingerprinting Services*
- Door-to-Door Solicitation Permits
Other services offered by the Records Unit include:
- Sign-off on One-Day Alcohol/Entertainment License and Hawker/Peddler License, both of which are issued by the City of Cambridge License Commission. Click here for more details

As with other units of the Cambridge Police Department, the Records Unit adheres to strict standards of confidentiality and strives to provide a professional and efficient service.
