Simard Building Reconstruction Project

The Simard building, located at the Department of Public Works campus, 147 Hampshire St., is slated for renovations.

These include:

  • renovations to interior office and storage spaces
  • installation of rooftop solar panels
  • drilling geothermal wells

 

This work is expected to start March 2022 and take 18 months to complete. 

The Simard Building reopened in November 2024. This project has been completed and no further updates will be made to this page. 


Notice: Renovation beginning Tuesday, June 21

Renovation of the Simard Building will begin Tuesday, June 21, with installation of construction fence around the building. A lay down area will also be established around the building with spray paint.

There will be no access to the building and no parking adjacent to the building at any time.


Community Meeting Notice: Tuesday, March 8, 6-7 p.m. 

Beginning Spring of 2022, the Simard Building, located at the Department of Public Works, 147 Hamphire St. will be undergoing renovation. 

Renovations include interior redesign of office and storage spaces, installation of rooftop solar panels and drilling geothermal wells. This work is expected to take 18 months to complete.

Please join City Staff and their team of consultants to discuss these renovations and any impacts on the neighborhood on Tuesday, March 8th, 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
