The MBTA’s contractor, Keolis Commuter Services, will be conducting emergency work to replace the railroad tracks at the Sherman Street crossing this weekend.
Beginning at 5:30am on Saturday, October 8th, Sherman Street (at the crossing) will be closed to all through traffic, in order to facilitate this work. This road closure is anticipated to last until approximately 4pm on Monday, October 10th and will be in place 24 hours a day.
During this time, local residents accessing Sherman Street from Rindge Avenue will be detoured down Pemberton Street. Residents traveling northbound on Sherman Street to access Danehy Park or businesses/residences will be allowed to continue on Sherman Street, all other vehicular traffic will be detoured at Cadbury Road, then Wood Street to Walden Street.
Police details and/or signage will be in place for the duration of this work to assist traffic through this temporary road closure. Variable Message Boards will be positioned on Sherman Street until the end of the project notifying residents of the impending closure.
For questions about this work or if you have any special access needs, contact Scott Evans, Keolis Track Supervisor, at (857) 408-4017.
