Over the next few weeks, weather permitting, the City’s contractor, E J Paving, will be performing partial roadway grinding and paving operations to enhance the road conditions on several sections of street around the City. The roadway grinding operation is expected take two days followed by paving of the roadway later that same week, or the following week (weather permitting). For a list of street sections to be re-surfaced, please see reverse.
Due to the nature of this work and the scale of each paving job, specific work dates on your street are not available. However, please be sure to watch for NO PARKING SIGNS, posted 24-hours in advance, which will indicate exact location and dates when work will take place. Residents who have vehicles parked in the project area will need to move them prior to 7AM.

- Linnaean St. from Garden St. to Raymond St.
- Foch St. from Newman St to the Dead End
- Newman St. from Mass Ave. to Foch St.
- Hammond St. from Oxford St. to Gorman St.
- Gorman St. from Museum St. to the Dead End
- Wendell St. from Oxford to Mass Ave.
- Farrar St. from Scott St. to Holden St.
- Trowbridge St. from Mass Ave. To Harvard St.
- Bigelow St. from Mass Ave. to Harvard St.
- Stearns St. from Newell St. to Sherman St.
- Concord Ave. from Fawcett St. to Wheeler St.
- Concord Ave. from Smith Pl. to Spinelli Pl.
Please note: Above is an anticipated list. Due to weather conditions and paving contractor schedules, some streets listed above may not be paved this fall. If it rains or temperatures get too cold, the list may be limited. Any remaining streets would be added to the spring paving schedule.
What to Expect During Construction
- Work hours will be 7 AM to 5 PM.
- Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
- Police officers will be onsite to assist with traffic management.
- Crews will make every effort to open the roadway as soon as possible.
- The road will be closed, but abutters will maintain access.
