City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Please also note that all library locations will also be closed on January 1, 2023. Parking meter payments will not be required at Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations on January 1 and 2, 2023. Please see service schedule and operational hours below.
Holiday Tree Collection Schedule
Curbside pick-up of un-decorated Christmas trees will occur January 3-13 on your curbside collection day. Decorations and stands must be removed and trees should not be in a plastic bag. Residents can also bring bare trees to the Recycling Center during open hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 - 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Curbside Collection Schedule
For the weeks of December 26 and January 2, curbside collection will be one day behind its regular schedule.
Note: The last week for yard waste pick-up is the week of December 26 on your regular collection day. Yard waste collection resumes April 3, 2023.
Street Cleaning Schedule
The makeup day for Monday, December 26 street cleaning will be Friday, December 30. Street cleaning ends on December 30 for the winter season, and will resume in April 2023.
Recycling Drop Off Center, 147 Hampshire Street
The Recycling Drop Off Center will be open on its regular hours, Tuesdays (4-7:30 p.m.), Thursdays (4-7:30 p.m.), and Saturdays (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.).
Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue
The Cambridge Cemetery will have the gates open from 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season, but the administrative office will be closed on Monday, January 2.
COVID-19 Testing
The last day of city-sponsored PCR Testing at CIC Health will be Wednesday, December 28. To find alternative PCR testing locations, including sites that offer free testing, residents can visit the state's
Find a COVID-19 Test webpage and search by zip code. Residents are also reminded that rapid antigen home tests are free at pharmacies for individuals covered by insurance. In addition, the City of Cambridge will be receiving a large supply of rapid tests from the state in the new year which will be made available to residents at no cost.
