In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday, January 16, 2023, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed and curbside collection service will be suspended. Additionally, parking meter/pay station payments will not be required.
Curbside collection of recycling, compost, and trash will be one day behind schedule for the rest of that week. Street cleaning and yard waste pickup are suspended for the winter season and will resume in April. The Cambridge Cemetery at 76 Coolidge Avenue will have the gates open from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, however, the Cemetery Administrative Office will be closed.
Curbside pick-up of un-decorated Christmas trees will occur January 3-13 on your curbside collection day. Decorations must be removed and trees should not be in a plastic bag. Trees should be bare and all tinsel, lights, decorations, and tree stands should be removed. Collected trees will be mulched and composted. Residents can also bring bare trees to the Cambridge Recycling Center at 147 Hampshire Street, in the back right corner of the Public Works yard, throughout the month of January during open hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 - 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
