2023 Commissioner's Award Winners

As part of a national celebration of Public Works Week, the Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Kathy Watkins and other City officials recently honored the recipients of the 2023 Commissioner’s Award for Outstanding Performance during a ceremony and cookout at the DPW yard. This award recognizes four employees of the DPW who have demonstrated exemplary work performance.

“The team at DPW is an amazing group of people dedicated to providing high quality services to residents and businesses in the city and responsible for the day-to-day operations of the city,” said DPW Commissioner Kathy Watkins. “The employees we are honoring this year are ones who have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service, support other employees and improve the way the way we do our work. We’re grateful for their service and we’re lucky to have them work for the city.”

Congratulations to our 2023 Commissioner’s Award for Outstanding Performance winners:

  • Abigail Bentley, Assistant City Arborist/Forestry Division
  • Paul Giesta, Working Supervisor Highway Maintenance Craftsworker/MEO IIA Street Maintenance Division
  • Kathleen Joyce, Senior Laborer/Building Operations
  • Kevin Richardson, Compliance Officer/Recycling Division

The Richard C. Rossi Dedicated Community Service Award was presented to two long-time DPW employees: Timothy Magliozzi (40 years of service); Henry Williams (30 years of service).
