City of Cambridge Thanksgiving Day Holiday Closures and Service Information

City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28-29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Parking meter payments will not be required on Thanksgiving Day, but will be required on both Friday and Saturday, November 29-30. Additionally, all library locations will close on Wednesday, November 27 at 5 p.m. and will reopen for their regular hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Curbside collection of trash, recycling, compost, and yard waste will be suspended on Thursday, November 28 only, but will occur on Friday, November 29. Pickup routes will be one day behind schedule for the rest of that week. Street cleaning will be suspended on Thursday, November 28. Streets that would normally be cleaned on the fourth Thursday of the month will be cleaned on Friday, November 29. Reminder notices will be posted.

Reminders related to street cleaning and waste collection are available by text message, email, or app notifications by downloading the “Zero Waste Cambridge” app for iPhone/Android. Users can also register to receive reminders for the above services, other city notifications, such as snow emergency and crime alerts via text or email, and email newsletters, such as the Daily Update at CambridgeMA.Gov/Subscribe.
