Inclusionary Study

The Inclusionary Housing Study examines Cambridge’s inclusionary housing provisions, analyzes changes in the housing market and demographics in the city, looks at similar provisions in other communities, and conducts an economic analysis of alternative inclusionary housing standards.

The study makes several recommendations for changes to the inclusionary housing provisions in the city’s Zoning Ordinance (Section 11.200 of the Zoning Ordinance) including increasing the proportion of affordable units in new market-rate development up to 20%. It also presents other program and policy recommendations for discussions. The study was completed by David Paul Rosen & Associates. The study has been submitted to the City Council for review and discussion. CDD is also available to discuss the study with interested residents, housing advocates, and developers.
