Nearly 2,000 members of the Cambridge community voted in the Food Truck Pilot’s People’s Choice Poll. Votes have been tallied and the top winners for each location are in! Congratulations to Bella Food Truck, which received the most votes for the Cambridgeport and North Point Park locations, and to Ben & Jerry’s, the most popular choice at the Central Square location.
The People’s Choice Poll winners were factored into the overall scheduling process for the Pilot, which followed a point system devised by an internal review committee. All eligible food trucks are currently being authorized to vend on a rolling basis by the Cambridge License Commission.
The Food Truck Pilot was designed to create more diverse food options in targeted areas of the city and provide entrepreneurial opportunities to local business owners. Ten of the 16 food trucks that are pending approval are owned by women or minority entrepreneurs.
The schedule below reflects the trucks that have been approved to vend by the Cambridge License Commission beginning in mid-April. It will be continually updated as additional shifts are approved.
