Education First (EF) held a ground breaking for their new U. S. headquarters building in North Point on September 25.  This 295,000 square foot $125 million building features an innovative design includes a glass waterfall emerging from the center of the building.  This structure will add to EF's already considerable presence in the North Point section of Cambridge and allow the company to increase employment by 400 jobs to a total of 1,200.  EF considered placing their North American headquarters in both Denver and San Francisco before finding that Cambridge offered the fit for the company's needs.

The event was well attended, with over 1,000 people in attendance, some of whom arrive by duck boat, and who took advantage of a festive atmosphere by feasting at a fleet of food trucks hired for the occasion by EF.

Both New England Cable News and the Boston Globe were there and carried stories about the event.
