On December 4, 2017, nine aspiring entrepreneurs graduated from the Community Business Planning Program, a free, 10-week course open to Cambridge residents and business owners. Participants worked on business plans ranging from an online yoga studio to a plant store to a community cycling and coffee shop.
“The Community Business Planning Program taught me how to write my business plan and think about marketing tools and legal processes related to starting my business,” said Muhammad Hannan, who aims to start a Boston-based business where South Asian vegetables and crops will be grown organically. “I do not have a business background, so the program was extremely helpful to me.”
In addition to completing business plans, participants practiced their business pitch, learned marketing techniques, and explored business funding options. Registration for the spring Community Business Planning Program opens in February 2018. Dates and eligibility information is currently available on the program's webpage.
