National Bike Month Kicks Off!
City of Cambridge Hosts Events & Provides Giveaways All Month Long
May is Bike Month and we're celebrating. The City of Cambridge will be giving away free bike lights & reflective gear, hosting bike education workshops, and decorating bikes at more than a dozen outreach events (see full listing below) throughout the city. We are also giving away educational materials and other gear to help you get around by bike comfortably and safely.

- Wednesday, May 2, 7:00 to 9:30 A.M. ~ Bike/Walk to School Day, Cambridge Public Schools
- Saturday, May 5, 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. ~ Kennedy Longfellow School Spring Fling, 158 Spring Street, Bike Decorating!
- Saturday, May 5, 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. ~ Affordable Housing Community Celebration, Sennott Park, 305 Broadway, Bike Decorating!
- Wednesday, May 9, 3:00-5:00 P.M. ~ Urban Cycling and Bike Maintenance Basics Youth Workshops with the Library Teen Room, 449 Broadway
- A program of the Cambridge Public Library
- Must be a middle school or high school student to attend
- May 12-20: MassCommute Bicycle Challenge! Hop on your bike, log your miles, and help Cambridge ride along to first place in this years competition.

- Get advice and quick safety tune-ups from the mechanics at Urban AdvenTours. First come, first served.
- Thursday, May 17, 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. ~ Bike Maintenance Drop-In Sessions! Collins Branch Library, 64 Aberdeen Ave
- Drop in to ask specific questions of MassBike instructors about fixing your bike!
- Thursday, May 17, 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. ~ Riding With Families Workshop, Collins Branch Library, 64 Aberdeen Ave
- Thursday, May 17, 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. ~ Bike Maintenance Drop-In Sessions! Collins Branch Library, 64 Aberdeen Ave

Note: Due to inclement weather, the Community Bike Ride has been postponed until Saturday, June 23rd.

- Must be a student at the Cambridge Learning Center to attend
- Friday, May 25, Walk/Ride Day Corporate Challenge!
