On December 15 at 6 p.m., the Community Development Department will host the final public meeting for the Our Cambridge Street planning process. This meeting will be held on Zoom webinar.

For the past year, the planning team has been working with the community to craft a shared vision for the future of Cambridge Street. After receiving feedback from over 1,000 community members including residents, workers, local business owners, and neighborhood organizations, the team identified the support for a Cambridge Street that is inviting, local, affordable, accessible, and resilient, now and in the future.

The meeting and presentation on December 15 will include:

  • a summary of the process;
  • recommendations for the future of Cambridge Street; and
  • opportunities for feedback and input

Registration is not required but you may RSVP to receive reminders.

For those who can’t make the meeting, the presentation will be recorded. The planning team will also be available in person on Saturday, December 17 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Cambridge Street in Inman Square. Light refreshments will be served.

Our Cambridge Street is a planning study for Cambridge Street between Inman Square and Lechmere Station. Cambridge Street was identified in Envision Cambridge as an area where sensitive and sustainable growth could provide opportunities for affordable housing; support local retail and service providers; enhance opportunities for walking and bicycling; and improve the public realm, among other community interests and benefits.
