Elm and Hampshire Plaza is currently undergoing construction.
Work Completed
Site utilities and drainage, plaza seating wall, group climber carousel, ornamental and regular fencing, dance chimes and clock, sod, plant material, concrete sidewalk and ADA compliant ramps.
Work in Progress and Remaining
Rubber safety surfacing, concrete plaza joints, table and chairs, lending library, interior finish asphalt, and time to allow site landscaping to become established.
The park is anticipated to open late August 2015 (pending weather conditions).

Community Meeting May 1, 2014
A community meeting regarding the renovations to Elm and Hampshire Plaza was held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 5:30 P. M. The meeting was an opportunity to see and discuss a concept plan for improvements to the plaza at the corner of Elm and Hampshire Streets.
Community Meeting, February 11, 2014
A community meeting regarding the renovations to Elm and Hampshire Plaza was held on February 11th, 2014 at 7:00 P. M. Discussion focused on the park renovation process and included an opportunity for the community to share thoughts on how the plaza is currently used and how it would ideally be used in the future. The follow-up meeting will be held May 1, 2014 at 5:30 P. M.
The City of Cambridge completed a comprehensive renovation of the Elm and Hampshire Plaza in 2015. The plaza is located at the corner of Elm Street and Hampshire Street in the Wellington-Harrington neighborhood. The renovated plaza is intended to be more inviting and interesting with whimsical and playful elements and features new seating areas, a small climbing and spinning structure, a dance chimes feature, lighting, an internal path, and new plantings and landscaping.
Park improvements throughout the city are also guided by the goals of Healthy Parks and Playgrounds Initiative.
