Linnaean Street Traffic Calming Project
Linnaean Street from Raymond Street to Massachusetts Avenue received traffic calming improvements in 2012. In addition to sidewalk ramps and roadway reconstruction, the project includes curb extensions to enhance safety for pedestrians. These were developed through an extensive community process, which included four neighborhood meetings organized by the city and several meetings with individual property owners.
The work included reconstruction of existing curb extensions at Raymond Street, new curb extensions at existing crosswalk in front of Graham And Parks School, curb extensions on Linnaean Street at the intersections with Avon Hill Street, Washington Avenue, Agassiz Street and Massachusetts Avenue.
