Upland Road Traffic Calming Project
Completed in 2012, the reconstruction of Upland Road from Raymond Street to Huron Avenue includes pedestrian safety improvements. These were developed through a community process which included two neighborhood meetings organized by the city and several meetings with individual property owners.
The improvements consist of constructing a curb extension at the intersection of Upland Road and Newell Street to reduce crossing distance for pedestrians crossing Upland Road and reduce speed of vehicles making a left turn at Newell Street. The construction of a curb extension on Huron Avenue at existing crosswalk at Upland Road was also included in this project.
This project has been completed. No further updates to this project page will be made.
