Bluebikes is Metro Boston's public bike share program, with over 3,000 bikes and more than 300 stations across Boston, Brookline, Cambridge and Somerville. It’s a fun, affordable and convenient transportation option for quick trips around town.
Bluebikes is public transportation by bike, owned by the municipalities of Cambridge, Boston, Brookline, Everett, and Somerville. The Bluebikes bike share system is fully integrated amongst the municipalities, so travel is seamless. Bluebikes users have taken over 15 million trips since the system launched in 2011!
What Is Bike Sharing?
Bike Sharing provides you with an accessible and green transit option. Take a bike from a location near your home or office and pedal your way to the next lunch meeting, errand or shopping trip, or to visit friends and family. The cost of your membership includes unlimited rides for up to 45 minutes; longer rides incur additional usage fees.

Bike sharing is an easy and affordable way to bike in Cambridge. You can ride anywhere in the region and return your bike to any Bluebikes station in the system.
