Project Evaluations
Upon the completion of most major projects, the City of Cambridge usually completes a follow up study to evaluate the function of a project, changes in behavior and whether the end result meets the goals established for the projects. Depending on the nature of the project, evaluations may include post construction counts for all modes, studies regarding speed and pedestrian safety and a user survey. Accident data is not collected as part of the evaluation since enough meaningful data has usually not accumulated within a year of construction. More recently, user surveys are generally done via a web survey of nearby residents who are mailed a postcard asking them to take the survey, or to contact us directly for a paper copy of the survey.
