Mt. Auburn Street Bus Priority Pilot
Cambridge, in partnership with Watertown, was awarded a community grant from the Barr Foundation to work with the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) to pilot bus priority improvements for routes 71 and 73 along Mt. Auburn Street west of Fresh Pond Parkway. The demonstration project includes the first dedicated bus lanes in Cambridge and new bike lanes, as well as transit signal priority. It uses temporary materials like paint and signs, which will remain in place during the evaluation, and is the first step towards implementing a long-term plan for the Mt. Auburn corridor.

Transit Service Analysis Study
Buses in Cambridge operate on the street network in mixed traffic, exposing bus passengers to the same delay from congestion as drivers of single occupancy vehicles. The Transit Service Analysis Study used a data driven approach to assess bus routes in Cambridge to prioritize locations for bus priority street treatments.

Mass Ave Protected Bike Lane Demonstration Begins December 2016

DCR Memorial Drive Greenway Improvements Project Public Meeting
Phase III of the Memorial Drive Project extends from the Boston University Bridge Rotary to the Eliot Bridge. This project, which will renovate and upgrade the greenway, encompasses both redesign of the roadway and associated traffic analysis, as well as environmental and landscape improvements.
