Celebrate Cambridge Water, Sustainability, and Community at Fresh Pond Day Saturday, June 22

fix-a-leak

Join the Cambridge Water Department for the city's annual Fresh Pond Day on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., at 250 Fresh Pond Parkway. This event is free and open to all.

Fresh Pond Reservation is Cambridge's green gem - an urban wild that protects Fresh Pond, Cambridge's in-city drinking water reservoir. Fresh Pond Reservoir is the City's active drinking water supply, and every drop of water from every tap in Cambridge comes from Fresh Pond and passes through the Walter J. Sullivan Water Treatment Facility. Every single day Cambridge Residents use between 10-14-million gallons of water, and this is our chance to celebrate our independent water supply and green space oasis in such an urban environment. Fresh Pond Day serves as an annual community tribute to this unique Reservation that is a vital natural resource, an invaluable sanctuary for wildlife, and a beloved recreational and open space escape in the city.
