The Information Technology Department (ITD) provides centralized technology services to support municipal operations. Some of ITD's divisions and focus areas include:

Geographic Information Systems, providing maps and spatial data services for both City departments and the public.
The Open Data Program whose goal is to increase accessibility to and the transparency of data created by the City
The Cambridge Public Internet WiFi Network providing free public Internet access via WiFi at all public buildings, public schools, and many parks throughout the City.
