Summer Food Program

Human Service Programs

Join us for free food and fun each summer! The Cambridge Summer Food Program provides free, nutritious meals to Cambridge children every weekday at parks across the city. The program also provides meals to eligible summer camps and free snacks at "Screen on the Green" Family Movie nights.

  • Open to all Cambridge residents ages 18 and under
  • Free meals at Cambridge parks Monday - Friday
  • No identification required to get a meal
  • Vegetarian options at every location

Breakfast and lunch meals are served at park locations across Cambridge. Dinner meals are served at Cambridge Recreation's Summer Basketball and Street Hockey League locations (view details and map below).

Through its partnership with Cambridge Recreation, the program offers activities and sports at summer food meal sites. The Cambridge Book Bike also visits a summer food site each week, bringing story time and a variety of free books for children to choose from.

The 2025 Summer Food Program will begin on Monday, June 30 and meals will be served through August.

Join Summer Food staff at a Kick Off Event on Friday, June 27, at Donnelly Field, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
