City of Cambridge Message to Residents 75 and Older Related to the COVID-19 Vaccine

caution sign The information on this page may be outdated as it was published 3 years ago.

The following is a CodeRED phone message that was delivered to Cambridge residents age 75 and older on January 27, 2021:

This is the City of Cambridge calling with information about the COVID-19 vaccine for residents age 75 and older.

As of Wednesday, January 27, residents age 75 and older are eligible to make an appointment to get vaccinated on the State’s website using the map at www.mass.gov/COVIDVaccineMap.

Due to high demand and constrained vaccine supply, the State has informed us that COVID-19 Vaccination appointments are currently limited and more appointments will be available based on supply from the Federal Government.

If you can’t make an appointment at this time, please continue checking the State’s website but be prepared that it may take several weeks to get an appointment at a location near you. As more vaccine supply arrives in Massachusetts, additional appointments will become available.

We know you’re frustrated with how the vaccine is being rolled out, and we are too. And while there are currently no public vaccine sites available in Cambridge due to the limited vaccine supply, the City is working with the State to try to establish sites in Cambridge.

Please be patient and know that you will be able to get the vaccine if you want it.

We hope things will ramp up quickly and that more vaccines and locations to get vaccinated will be made available to residents in the coming days and weeks.

If you have further questions, please call the Cambridge Council on Aging at 617-349-6220.
