Cambridge Celebrates Opening of its Newest Creative Center the Foundry
lunes, 21 de noviembre de 2022
This fall, over 3,000 members of the Cambridge community gathered to celebrate the opening of The Foundry, the City’s new self-sustaining center of creativity and collaboration in Kendall Square. The 50,000 square foot space offers opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, as well as areas and programs for visual and performing arts, entrepreneurship, workforce education, and community activities.
As a City-owned building, operated in partnership with Cambridge Redevelopment Authority, the Foundry will facilitate access for residents, especially underrepresented communities, to the dynamic working and learning environment of Kendall Square. The Foundry aims to keep programming and spaces financially accessible to community members through discounts based on income. Inside the Foundry, you can find Jukebox, a storytelling project created by artist Elisa H. Hamilton and commissioned by Cambridge Arts Council through the City of Cambridge Percent-for-Art Program.
