Brian P Murphy Memorial Staircase

City officials gathered earlier today for the dedication of the Brian P. Murphy Memorial Staircase at the grand opening of Twenty/20 Northpoint. Brian who was Assistant City Manager for the city’s Community Development passed away earlier this year.

The staircase will play a central role in creating a new connection between Charlestown and Cambridge and between the Orange Line and the Green Line. Brian was a huge supporter of this staircase that will allow people to easily walk from Gilmore Bridge down to the new parks, residential buildings, retail stores and commercial buildings that will be built at NorthPoint.

The Murphy family was also present at the special ceremony to remember Brian’s legacy and his work to help bring about this important piece of infrastructure.
