Broadband Forum Oct 14

On October 14 from 6pm - 8pm, the City’s Broadband Task Force will be holding an interactive Community Input Forum to gather community insights into how broadband service in Cambridge can be improved. Over the course of the 2 hour event, participants will be encouraged to share what they care about and what topics are most important to them, such as: competition, price, speed and reliability, customer service, or any other aspect of broadband service.

This Forum is an opportunity for participants to actively engage with fellow members of the community to help develop a set of priorities for Task Force members and City leaders to consider. Everyone will have the opportunity to participate, listen, and share ideas at this Forum.

Citizens who live in Cambridge, operate a business in the City, or deliver public services or operate a nonprofit organization in the City are encouraged to attend.  This forum is a great opportunity for participants to meet members of the Task Force and learn more about this initiative. Visit the Cambridge Broadband Task Force project page to learn more about its mission and work.

Background on the Broadband Task Force: City Manager Richard C. Rossi appointed a Task Force to examine broadband service in Cambridge and evaluate the city’s internet infrastructure. The Task Force is examining options to increase competition, reduce pricing, and improve speed, reliability and customer service for both residents and businesses. Additionally, the Task Force is investigating scenarios for leveraging the City’s current or future fiber assets to expand access to broadband services, such as service to Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) properties.
