The City of Cambridge Board of Election Commissioners is seeking applicants to work at polling locations throughout the city.
Election Workers must:
- Be registered to vote in Massachusetts;
- Be available to work Election Day from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.;
- Be able to read and write English, and speak clearly. Dedication, efficiency, patience and friendliness are assets.
Election Workers will receive:
- Compensation at an hourly rate of $15.04- $16.95, depending on the position assigned on Election Day;
- Paid Training;
- The opportunity to assist the citizens of Cambridge with a positive voting experience.
Interested persons are invited to attend an Election Worker Recruitment Session Wednesday, July 13, 6 p.m., at the Citywide Senior Center, Walter Milne Ballroom, 806 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge.
The Recruitment Session will consist of a short presentation followed by a chance for each person to meet with an Election Commissioner for a brief interview. You must RSVP for the Recruitment Session via phone to 617-349-4361 or email elections@cambridgema.gov.
Please note: The Recruitment Session is unpaid. Attendance at the Recruitment Session does not guarantee that you will be hired as an Election Worker.
Prospective applicants can complete an application in advance and bring it to the Recruitment Session. Download election worker application here or stop by the Election Commission Office at 51 Inman Street, Cambridge to pick up a copy. Applications will also be available at the Recruitment Session as well.
