Bow Tie Ride Returns Sunday, October 2

caution sign The information on this page may be outdated as it was published 2 years ago.

Ever notice that the City of Cambridge is in the shape of a bow tie? Join the Cambridge Bicycle Committee for a relaxed, scenic two-hour ride tracing the bow tie shaped boundaries of the city. The ride will be escorted by the Cambridge Police Department's Bike Patrol and will include a midway break. The ride will go at a relaxed pace, but we ask that young children ride tandem with an adult (trailers, bike seats, tag-alongs, etc.).

Meet time is 9 a.m. at the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch/Joan Lorentz Park (449 Broadway); the ride will depart promptly at 9:30a.m.

Bike mechanics will be on hand before the ride to make quick safety checks (you *must* arrive early if you need your bike checked). The mechanics will be making minor adjustments, like tire pressure and small emergency repairs only. Please make sure your bike is in reasonable working order ahead of the ride. To learn more about how to repair your own bike, check out our bike education videos.

Free Bluebikes passes are available for those who need a bike; please email bluebikes@cambridgema.gov by September 28.

There is no registration or charge for the tour -- just show up and enjoy!

WEAR A BOW TIE, OR COME AS YOU ARE!
