CDD has completed its annual update to the stock of affordable housing units in the city. There are now 8,591 affordable housing units in the city. This total includes affordable rental housing owned by the Cambridge Housing Authority, non-profit, and private affordable housing providers; inclusionary housing, both rental and homeownership; and all other affordable homeownership . Affordable housing units in this count are subject to long-term affordability restrictions to keep housing affordable to residents earning less than 120% of area median income, and were either under construction or complete as of June 30, 2023.
CDD has also estimated the number of all housing units in the city at 57,894 units as of June 30, 2023. The proportion of the overall housing stock that is affordable housing is approximately 14.8%.
