The Cambridge Community Development Department is pleased to announce the relaunch of the Cambridge Legacy Business Program. This program is designed to recognize a valuable cultural asset -- longstanding businesses that have served the Cambridge community for 25 years or more. Click here for a current list of Cambridge legacy business.
Legacy Businesses will be:
- Recognized annually during the City’s National Small Business Week celebrations
- Highlighted in City’s Legacy Business webpage
- Eligible to receive educational and promotional assistance that encourages continued viability
The entire Cambridge community will have an opportunity to help identify legacy businesses. Business owners may also nominate themselves. Nominees will need to confirm their eligibility by completing the Legacy Business Certification Form that will be reviewed by the Community Development Department (CDD) and the Cambridge Historical Commission (CHC). CDD’s economic development staff will be available to assist nominees to confirm their eligibility.
Nominate businesses online or through the form (PDF) on the Legacy Business Program’s webpage. Nominations for the Legacy Business Program will be accepted on a rolling basis. Businesses accepted into the Program will be announced annually in May as a part of the City’s National Small Business Week celebrations.
