New Neighborhood Profile Report
The 2023 Neighborhood Profile includes a three page summary of conditions in each of Cambridge's thirteen neighborhoods and a citywide summary. A series of data tables allows easy comparison of 1990 through 2010 Decennial Census results with the 2017 - 2021 American Community Survey,
New Housing Data Webpage
The housing data webpage is now reorganized into an FAQ format to make it easier to find the data you want. The contents have also expanded to more housing related topics such as student housing and homelessness. Take a look and let us know your thoughts:
Second Quarter 2023 Development Log
The Development Log tracks large-scale residential and commercial development projects in Cambridge. The current edition tracks 75 projects totaling 15.8 million square feet. Projects cover the construction of 5,200 housing units. This includes over 900 units of affordable housing:
Second Quarter 2023 Rent Monitor
The Rent Monitor tracks current market rate rental costs in Cambridge. The dashboard provides a variety of both citywide and neighborhood statistics, including how many market rate apartments are affordable to housing voucher holders:
Updated Housing Starts Data
The housing starts open data set has been updated through June 30, 2023. Since the beginning of the year Cambridge recorded 94 housing starts. The Housing Starts Map has also been replaced with updated functionality:
Updated Sustainable Buildings Data
This data set combines information from eight sustainable building certification programs, including two City regulatory programs, to show the extent and location of sustainable buildings in Cambridge.
Updated H1B Visas Data
Cambridge employers request H1B and similar visas to employ foreign citizens. This data set provides information about which employers submit such applications and for what types of jobs. This data has been updated through federal fiscal year 2022:

Demographic and Statistics FAQ Updates
A key demographic resources is our Demographics and Statistics FAQ, with answers to over 20 common demographic and socioeconomic questions about Cambridge. We recently updated two of those questions. The estimated daytime population for Cambridge during 2022 was 213,000. Based on building permit and other data, the housing stock of Cambridge stands at 57,894 units as of June 30, 2023.
