Applications are now open for a new grant for Cambridge small businesses in need of help with operation costs, including but not limited to rent relief, payroll, or other operating expenses. Brick and mortar businesses can receive up to $15,000 in reimbursement for payroll, commercial rent/mortgage, equipment, or other costs. Home-based businesses can receive up to $7,500 for payroll or operating/equipment costs.
Applications will be accepted between January 16, 2024, until February 16, 2024 and are available at cambridgema.gov/covid19/business.
This grant is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), will provide relief to local, non-franchise businesses that continue to be heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of this grant is to help small businesses in and around our commercial districts recover and adapt from ongoing economic impacts related to the pandemic.
The Small Business Operating Grant will be awarded based on criteria which will prioritize Cambridge businesses with fewer than 50 employees and businesses who have not received a COVID-19 related grant from the City.
