On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the City of Cambridge kicked off National Small Business Month by hosting the Cambridge Legacy Business Luncheon. This event celebrates some of the oldest businesses in Cambridge.
Eighteen local businesses, representing a variety of neighborhoods and specialties, were presented with awards recognizing their rich contribution to Cambridge's retail environment. Each of the businesses have been in operation for over 25 years or more and nominated by a member of the Cambridge community. This year’s honorees include Black-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses, as well as businesses owned by entrepreneurs with disabilities and LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs.
