Six alarms were ordered on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, Box 6-285, for the fire in the 103 year old Faith Lutheran Church, 311 Broadway.
Firefighters from 18 engine companies, 8 ladder companies, 3 squads, Rescue 1, & command and support units worked to complete searches, evacuate people, protect threatened exposure buildings in the neighborhood, and contain and extinguish the fire.
Numerous mutual aid partner fire departments worked alongside Cambridge firefighters fighting the fire as well as covering other unrelated ongoing emergencies in Cambridge.
No injuries have been reported to civilians however several firefighters received non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
Cambridge Police, Professional EMS, Inspectional Services staff also worked on scene. Thank you to the staff of Cambridge Emergency Communications for real-time dispatching and coordinating communications as well as covering the entire city during a very hectic day.
