Quick action by Lieutenant Barry and Firefighters Frailey and DeCourcey helped to save a trapped person

Just before 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 12th, during the primary search for residents at the 3-alarm fire, Box 3-8111, at 249 Garden Street, one resident was located in a 3rd floor apartment in a heavy smoke condition and was rescued by firefighters via ground ladders. Three firefighters, Squad 3 Lieutenant William Barry & Firefighter Reed Frailey on the ladders with Engine 6 (detiled to Engine Eight ) Firefighter John "Ryan" DeCourcey inside the room, effected the "rescue over ladders" during a great teamwork effort by everyone working at the fire!

The rescued resident was treated & transported to a medical facility by Pro EMS. One other resident was also treated & transported for injuries.
