Major fires during the year included a 6-alarm fire in April, which devastated the Faith Lutheran Church on Broadway; a 3-alarm in October at a residential building on Garden Street where one trapped person was rescued by firefighters via ladder; and a 3-alarm fire in November on Gore Street in East Cambridge.
