Engine 5 and Squad 3 - pump operations drill

Between runs on Monday moring, July 22nd,  Engine 5 & Squad 3 took advantage of the nice weather to run a pump ops drill. Flowing approximately 1000 gpm (gallons per minute),  the drill included fireground hydraulics, water supply, supplying various handlines, Blitzfire gun, the apparatus deck gun, & much more.

Engine 5 's pump is the 2023 Pierce Enforcer.
Group 1 was on duty for this training exercise.

This drill is just one of numerous training exercises ongoing every day.

Every company runs hands-on drills to maintain urban firefigthing proficiency. Drills include pumps operations, water supply, aerial ladder ops, tech rescue skils, emergency medical skills, and much, much more.

Note that several recent structure fires were very quickly contained and knocked down, preventing serious damage and preventing extension to exposure buidlings in our congested city. The high effecivess level of our firefighters is partly due to the everyday hands-on training segments.

Photos attached show Engine 5 and Squad 3 (from the Inman Square fire house), Group 1 on duty.
