Working Fire Box 45-78

On Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2024, a working fire was ordered for the fire at 1 Cottage Park Av in North Cambridge, a 2 1/2 story, wood-frame, mixed commercial & residential building. Arriving with smoke & fire showing from the "Charlie" side (rear), first-due Engine 4 went into fast attack mode, quickly established a water supply from a hydrant & stretched an attack line to knock down the heavy fire.

All companies worked as a team to complete interior extinguishment, overhaul, & complete searches for occupants. All residents were safey evacuated with no injuries reported.

Engines, 4, 8, 1, Somerville Engine 6 (line box), & 9; Ladders 4, 1, & 2; Squads 4 & 3; Rescue 1; and Divisions 2 & 1 worked at the fire.

Duty: group 4

Cambridge Police Department officers worked on scene for traffic diversion & pedestrian safety in the area.

Pro EMS was also on scene for EMS standby.

Boston Sparks Association A-10 was on scene for member rehab.

Cambridge ISD (Inspectional Services Dept) also responded.
