Please be aware of the following traffic impacts in the greater Boston area due to Sumner Tunnel and the MBTA Red Line closures taking place in July 2024.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is closing the Sumner Tunnel between July 5 and August 5, 2024. The Sumner Tunnel connects East Boston and Logan Airport to Downtown Boston. As a result, drivers should expect travel impacts across the Greater Boston area. Learn more about your travel options by visiting mass.gov/sumner-tunnel.
Also, the MBTA will close sections of the Red Line in Cambridge between Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 28, 2024. Expect delays while driving and taking public transit during this time. FREE shuttle buses will replace regular Red Line trains. Visit mbta.com/redline to learn more.
