Nearly 90 members gathered on Thursday, October 27th, in the Cambridge Senior Center, where they had the opportunity to enjoy a catered meal, socialize and dance to the tunes played by DJ Rich DiMare.
Cambridge Council on Aging’s Executive Director, Susan Pacheco, welcomed everyone to officially celebrate the 25th, 26th and 27th anniversaries of the Center.
“It is wonderful to have us all gathered today and celebrating this wonderful milestone. We wish we could have celebrated our 25th and 26th but today we are making up for it! My charge to you today, enjoy those at your table, but also introduce yourself to someone you do not know. Our hope on the day the Senior Center opened, October 31, 1995, was that the Center would be a welcoming place for all. As I look around, I know we have met that goal.”
Assistant City Manager, Department of Human Service Program, Ellen Semonoff, highlighted the work of the Council on Aging staff. “I want to express my deepest gratitude to the COA staff, volunteers, participants, and supporters, that continue to strive and work hard to bring the best programming and deliver the critical services to the older adults of our community.”
