Apply to the DHSP Afterschool Programs Lottery for the 2024-2025 School Year. Application Deadline is May 17.

Do you need afterschool care for your children for the 2024-2025 school year? The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) is accepting applications to the DHSP Afterschool Programs Lottery! DHSP offers afterschool programs for Cambridge children in Kindergarten through 8th grade, designed to develop social and emotional growth. Young people enjoy a range of activities, explore interests, and build friendships. Afterschool programs run during the school year, from September - June.

Apply to the 2024-2025 DHSP Afterschool Programs Lottery!

All open seats in DHSP afterschool programs are filled by a lottery system. Children currently enrolled in a DHSP afterschool program can re-enroll in the same program and program location for the 2024-2025 school year by completing an application. The last day to submit new or re-enrolling applications is Friday, May 17. 

Families use the same application to apply to:

• Childcare Afterschool Programs (Open to Kindergarten - 5th graders)
• Community Schools Programs (Open to Kindergarten - 5th graders)
• King Open Extended Day Program (Open to Kindergarten - 5th graders who attend the King Open School)
• Cambridge Youth Programs (CYP) Pre-Teen / Middle School programs (Open to 4-8th graders)

Families will be notified of their child's placement offer at an afterschool program or in the Waiting Pool in mid-June.
