Fresh Pond Golf Course Open for Passive Recreation During Winter

Fresh Pond Golf Course in winter. Cross country skiing tracks are visible in the snow.

Did you know that community members can enjoy Fresh Pond Golf Course all winter? While the last day of golf for the 2024 season was December 9, the course will remain open for passive recreation during winter months. We welcome visitors to enjoy walking the course, observing local wildlife, and – after a snowfall – snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or sledding.

Please enjoy your time on the course responsibly:

  • Observe posted rules
  • Golf in any form is prohibited during the off season
  • Stay off of the greens (these areas are marked by yellow and orange stakes)
  • Stay out of sand traps
  • Keep dogs leashed

Fresh Pond Golf Course, also known as the Thomas P. O’Neill, Jr. Municipal Golf Course, is managed by the Department of Human Service Program's Recreation Division.
