Analysis of the crime totals for the first seven months of 2018 indicates that violent crimes registered a 15% increase with twenty-four additional incidents counted, while property crimes reported a moderate decrease of 55 fewer crimes (-5%) when compared with the same time period last year. When measuring the serious crime totals of July of 2018 versus the previous month of June, there has been a significant decline of 13% in the number of index incidents with 27 fewer crimes counted this month versus June.
